THE Cagayan de Oro Health Office has logged 54 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases over the weekend, one of whom is a returning overseas Filipino worker (ROF) and 53 are local transmissions.
This brought the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the city to 3,476.
Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 53 new local cases, 18 are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, 13 are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), and 22 are local index cases.
Of the 3,476 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 422 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 3,054 cases are local transmissions.
Cagayan de Oro has recorded 306 active cases, 71 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 231 are outpatients, and four are ROFs/LSIs.
The city also registered 20 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as “recovered,” 17 of which were persons whose repeat swab tested negative while three were certified recovered. This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 2,995.
Of the figure, 300 are LSIs, 117 are ROFs, and 2,578 are local cases (community: 2,175; Apors: 403).
The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is at 175.
