The Department of Interior and Local Government yesterday conferred the provincial government of Negros Occidental with the Safety Seal for compliance with health and safety protocols against COVID-19.
This was after the provincial government passed the on-site inspection and evaluation conducted by representatives of DILG, Bureau of Fire and Protection and Philippine National Police.
Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, in behalf of Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, received the Safety Seal Certificate from the evaluators, led by DILG provincial director Teodora Sumagaysay, as witnessed by PLt. Col.Robert Mansueto, Senior Fire Officer I Denmark Macoco, and Provincial Disaster Management Program chief Zeaphard Gerhart Caelian, among others.
The DILG posted on its website that that Hinobaan, cities of Silay, Talisay, Sagay, San Carlos, Sagay, Bago and Himamaylan have all passed the 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).
The SGLG is a progressive assessment system adopted by DILG to give distinction to remarkable local government performance across several areas.
To earn the award, local government units must pass the core areas of financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection and tourism, health compliance and responsiveness, programs for sustainable education, business-friendliness and competitive; safety, peace and order; environmental management, tourism, heritage development, culture and arts; and youth development.*
