A barangay in Buguey Town in Cagayan is now on its fourth wave of relief food distribution after collecting from a donation drive.
Barangay Leron Chairman Willynberg Dela Cruz said they are thankful for the donations given to them which will help augment the needs of the residents due to the enhanced community quarantine.
406 relief packs were distributed on their first wave of relief operations last April 1, 534 relief packs on April 7, and around 100 packs for the indigents on April 8.
P74,500 and 16 cavans of high quality rice have been used which came from the donation drive of the barangay.
For transparency, the barangay officials post updates and pictures of receipts on their social media page.
For the fourth wave, 282 families in the barangays included in the extreme poverty classification have received the relief goods.
Meanwhile, 80 families opted not to receive their share and said they would like those who need it the most should take it.
The chairman said they received money, rice, and grocery items from some residents of the barangay who wanted to share it to the needy.
