CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City Police Office director, Police Colonel Josefino Ligan, yesterday said they are ready for anti-COVID vaccination contrary to report that they do not want to take the vaccine.
In a press conference, Ligan told reporters that the more than a thousand personnel under the CCPO are ready for the anti-COVID vaccine.
President Rodrigo Duterte has first announced that the frontliners including the medical workers and the law enforcers will be first in line should the vaccines are available.
“Andam, willing ang mga police nga magpa-vaccine, frontliners man gyud, walay ingon nga walay di magpa vaccine,” Ligan said.
Reports in social media said that police personnel were forced to take the vaccine and those who will refuse will be reassigned in the other regions.
According to Ligan, he did not receive any report that the cops under the CCPO do not want to be vaccinated.
“Para man na sa imong panglawas nganong mo no man ka? Ganahan gyud diay ka nga mag-positive nga para man na sa imong panglawas,” said Ligan.
Last February 9, a transfer vaccine simulation exercise has been conducted spearheaded by the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas and the Department of Health in Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
“Maayo man ang dagan sa simulation exercise sa dry run, hoping na wala gyud may makit-an na mga panghitabo mobabag sa atong plano, naa pud tay gihimo na contingency plans just in case naa gyud mahitabo nga mopugong anang pag-travel sa vaccine,” said Ligan.
Ligan further said that should the vaccines will arrive in the city, their regular round up operations dubbed as Oplan Bulabog will stop. — GMR (FREEMAN)
