“Tanan nga giswab didto sa mao nga area, sa pagsusi sa makaduhang higayon, negative na ang mao nga result,” said Gealon in a virtual press conference yesterday.
Gealon, spokesperson of Mayor Edgardo Labella, said the city’s recommendation is based on the data from the Department of Health in Central Visayas (DOH-7), City Health Department (CHD), and Philippine National Police (PNP), who are conducting the contact tracing and swab testing.
Sitio San Isidro is among the six areas placed under granular lockdown since July 25, as a measure to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Other areas placed under granular lockdown are Sitio Eyha in Barangay Guadalupe, Balaga Drive to Sitio Cekalco in Barangay Labangon, Tuada Compound in Barangay Tisa, Abellanosa Compound in Barangay Quiot, and C. Mina Extension in Barangay Mabolo.
Quiot Barangay Captain Francis Espares, however, said that what they receommended for the lifting of lockdown status is just the Abellanosa compound, not Sitio San Isidro.
“Murag misquoted tingali na. Tungod kay ang among gi-recommend based (on) the report of our BHERTs, it’s the Abellanosa compound, Sitio Kalubihan, not Sitio San Isidro,” Espares said.
“Dunay usa diha nga nahimong positive. Based (on) the contact tracing, adunay unom kabuok nga gi-swab, so ang katong mga tawhana sa dihang na-found nga positive tong maong igsuon nato diha atong gi-isolate dayon,” he added.
Espares said the patient was already cleared after his 14-day quarantine period and the other six were also found negative of the virus.
He said they submitted a recommendation to Labella for the lifting of the lockdown status in Abellanosa compound.
“Ang San Isidro duha kabuok ang positive diha. Ang usa nakagawas na gikan sa tambalanan. Based (on) the contact tracing adunay 11 kabuok nga gi-swab (gahapon),” he said.
Gealon said the lifting of the granular lockdown status of the other areas would be based on the report from the CHD and DOH.
“Kon ugaling mapareha ang nahitabo sa uban nga mga lockdown areas nga gigranular lockdown, pareha gihapon ang ilang maabtan ining Sitio San Isidro, Barangay Quiot nga diin irekomendar na for lifting of lockdown status,” he said.
Gealon said swab testing is continuously being conducted in these locked down areas.
He added assistance such as sacks of rice, canned goods, water, and medicine are already provided in these areas.
A granular lockdown means restriction is limited to a specific area like a household or several houses, a street, or a compound where residents were exposed to a person with COVID-19. GAN (FREEMAN)
