MACABEBE Mayor Leonardo Flores has tested positive for the virus that causes the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
Flores said on his Facebook page Thursday, March 25, that prior to contracting the virus, he attended an event with fellow mayors at Camp Olivas in the City of San Fernando on March 18.
He was also able to perform his mayoral duties such as spearheading meetings and officiating weddings before he experienced Covid-19 symptoms, such as fever and body pain on March 22.
He was subjected to an RT-PCR test in a private hospital in Apalit town on March 23 and the results came back positive the following day.
He is currently admitted in isolation at the same private hospital in Apalit town.
The 78-year-old Flores has enjoined his constituents to strictly follow protocols as the virus can infect everybody, especially elderly and persons with comorbidities.
He also called on those whom he had interaction with this week to observe themselves and immediately report to the nearest health facilities if they start to feel symptoms.
Flores is the second local chief executive in Pampanga to contract the virus after Mayor Rene Maglanque of Candaba.
