IN PREPARATION for the proposed blended learning for the coming school year, the local government in San Simon is donating computer sets and internet connection to public schools.
Mayor Abundio Punsalan Jr. said a total of 34 laptops, 34 printers, five photocopy machines is being purchased by the local government for the use of 14 day care centers, 14 elementary schools, five high schools and the district office of Department of Education in San Simon.
All the educational facilities will also be given internet connection to be paid for by the local government, the mayor added.
“The equipment are intended for the preparation and printing of educational modules that will be distributed to students during their home-schooling,” Punsalan said.
He added that the donation is aimed at ensuring that education of Simonian youth will not be disrupted despite the restrictions caused by Covid-19.
He also said that equipment are expected to be distributed to schools before the eyed opening of classes on August.
“This will hasten the printing and distribution of modules so that no Simonian youth will be left behind in their studies whatever their situation is,” he said.
Meanwhile, aside from schools, the 14 barangay health centers will also be receiving laptops and printers to boost their monitoring of the Covid-19 situation.
