THE City Health Office reported on Thursday, February 11, 61 additional cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Cagayan de Oro, and more than half of them are workers from a Manila-based construction company.
This brought the total number of Covid-19 cases in the city to 3,572.
Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 61 new local cases, seven are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, two are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), 51 are local index cases, and one death.
Of the 3,572 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 422 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 3,150 cases are local transmissions.
According to Nery, the 3,150 local cases consist of 186 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), 1,637 local index cases and 1,327 local cases with link.
Cagayan de Oro has recorded 339 active cases, 59 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 276 outpatients, and four are ROFs/LSIs.
The city also registered 10 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as “recovered.” This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 3,057.
Of the figure, 300 are LSIs, 117 are ROFs, and 2,640 are local cases (community: 2,228; Apors: 412).
The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 176.
