Tuguegarao City, CAGAYAN – As Cagayan Valley Medical Center’s COVID-19 ward gets maxed out by the rampant increase of infections, district hospitals in the province of Cagayan are now ready to admit mild to moderate COVID-19 patients according to Provincial Health Officer Dr. Carlos Cortina III.
Dr. Cortina said that the CVMC COVID-19 ward under the care of Medical Chief Dr. Glenn Mathew Baggao may now transfer and refer non-critical COVID-19 patients without comorbidity to certain district hospitals who can now accept up to 20 patients each while others can only accept 15.
The Provincial Health Officer also added that hospitals such as the Nuestra Senora De Piat District Hospital, Matilde A. Olivas District Hospital, and the Tuao District Hospital are among the reported district hospitals who already have many COVID-19 patients admitted.
Presently, the Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC) has already exceeded its 125 COVID-19 bed capacity with 143 COVID-19 cases admitted. CVMC Chief Dr. Glenn Mathew Baggao said that of the 143 admissions, 115 are active, 27 are suspected or awaiting results, while one remains probable. TNF
