THE Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) recorded 92 percent recovery rate, with 7,642 out of the 8,340 confirmed Covid-19 cases as of January 5, 2021.
Dr. Ruby Constatino, regional Director of the Department of Health (DOH)-CAR, said the health management system being implemented in the region projects a positive response system against Covid-19, with the region ranking number 9 out of the 17 regions in terms of its recovery rate.
“The main reason why we may consider that we excel in the health management of confirmed Covid-19 cases based on recoveries is that most of our cases are asymptomatic or up to mild,” Constantino said.
As of January 5, DOH-CAR has recorded 8,340 confirmed Covid-19 cases in the region with a 4.08 percent increase compared to the December 29,2020 data.
One hundred thirteen deaths due to the disease were also recorded, with a fatality rate of 1.35 percent.
“As of January 1,2021, CAR have been classified under low risk using the Average Daily Attack Rate or Adar of 4.37 percent and two-week growth rate of less than six percent. However, we should not be complacent that we are under low-risk because as per national data, CAR is one of the regions with the highest Adar including NCR, Regions 8, 11, 4-A,” Constantino said.
The regional health department continues to closely monitor some areas in CAR due to the increased Adar. These areas include Baguio City, Mankayan, La Trinidad and Itogon in Benguet Province, Tinglayan in Kalinga Province, and Daguioman in Abra Province.
An increase in the number of Covid-19 cases is expected in the next two weeks by DOH-CAR, as people have returned to their previous activities.
