MORE activities will be allowed in La Trinidad, Benguet but are subject to follow health protocols, an official said.
Following the Emergency Municipal Inter-Agency Task Force for Covid-19 meeting, officials approved the conduct of church weddings, ordination at churches, operation of cockpits and folk singers performing at restaurants subject to protocols.
Mayor Romeo Salda on November 18 said starting Thursday, the Shilanders cockpit opened for the first time after nine months of closure.
The decision came after the National Inter-Agency Task Force on Covid-19 issued Resolution No. 79 that lifted the ban on cockfighting in areas that are under modified general community quarantine.
A temporary ban for cockfighting activities in the country was earlier issued due to the prohibition of mass gatherings amid the community quarantine.
Salda said operators of cockfighting areas should follow strict guidelines by assigning a safety officer in the entrance to get the body temperature of every participant.
The public will not be allowed.
Only two participants will be allowed and are required to log-in, while there will be one entry and exit in the area.
The local government added any violation may lead to the suspension of operations.
Salda said for church weddings and ordination, ceremonies must follow a 50-percent capacity per venue.
He added folk singers are also now allowed to perform at restaurants.
As of November 18, there are 114 active cases in La Trinidad and 436 total recoveries, according to the provincial government.
