A JAPANESE technology, dubbed “Genki Medical Imaging,” is seen to help speed up detection of coronavirus in individuals.
The technology, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based solution, was introduced to Baguio City by the NTT Data Corporation. It was developed for public health screening and efficient pandemic management to speed up coronavirus detection at triage points, boasting x-ray results to be processed in minutes.
Cruz is optimistic that an AI-powered public health solution can help Baguio City fight the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
Cruz said Genki is a radiology AI solution that analyzes chest X-rays and CT scans to automatically triage patients in a “speedy and a cost-effective way.”
The technology covers 17 different chest pathologies and can be used at hospitals or in mobile X-ray. It analyzes within minutes whether the patient needs to undergo home quarantine or hospitalization, with or without isolation.
“We are bringing this to the city of Baguio. We want to make sure Baguio is a safer city and with our solution, it can help triage people more effectively and more efficient with the price being discussed to be able to democratize targeted mass testing lower than the Antigen test which costs P1,000,” Cruz said.
Last week, over 400 personnel from the Baguio City Police Office were scanned using the latest technology.
