JUST more than 45,000 individuals in Central Luzon have received two doses of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccines, as of May 18, 2021.
Based on the vaccine tracker released by the Department of Health (DOH), only a total of 45,421 persons in the regions have been fully immunized from the virus.
This was only 6.6 percent of the target population of 458,660 to be vaccinated in the region, DOH further noted.
Meanwhile, some 239,954 persons, or about 52.3 percent of the target population in the region, have received their first doses of the vaccine.
The agency assured that more individuals will get their vaccines soon as more vaccines are expected to arrive in bulk in the country in the coming weeks.
The DOH reminded the public to get vaccinated when it is their turn by registering with their local government units
Moreover, strict adherence to minimum public health standards should still be observed even with the increased vaccination rate of the country.
