MAGALANG has recorded 13 new cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) as of April 8, 2021, the Municipal Health Office (MHO) stated.
The new cases include two nine-year-old boys from barangays San Pablo and Santo Rosario.
With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases in the town has climbed to 312 as of Thursday, April 8.
“This brings the total number of confirmed active Covid-19 patients to 75,” the MHO stated.
The local health office also recorded five recoveries; Patients M225, M228, M229, M236 and M237.
Mayor Romy Pecson has also contracted the virus.
The mayor is now under treatment in a private medical center.
The Magalang local government appealed to the public to always follow the minimum health standards set by the Department of Health to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
“We are also appealing to every qualified individual to get vaccinated against the dreaded Covid-19 virus,” it said.
