TWO residents of San Luis town in Pampanga who were working in a factory along Quezon Road have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
In his Facebook live report, Mayor Jayson Sagum said the patients are from Barangay San Carlos and Sta. Lucia, and aged 22 and 23, respectively.
He said the patients are among the 17 more workers of the same factory situated in Mexico town who also tested positive for the virus.
“The owner’s driver was the first one to be infected with Covid-19 that is why the other employees were subjected to swab testing and out of the 34 employees who were swabbed, results came back positive for 17 of them,” the mayor said.
He added that the two Covid-19 patients are already confined in the municipal quarantine facility while undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, Sagum said there are 35 more residents of San Luis who were also working for the factory.
“My concern now is that we have more kabalens who are also working in the same factory but the good news is they are not deployed in different departments and not in the office where most of those who tested positive were,” he said.
He, however, said that all employees were already in self and home quarantine as a precautionary measure, and are being monitored by the health office.
