Duterte-Carpio bared this on Monday, January 24, the same date the mayor tentatively said in her early interview this month that would be her slated Soca.
But this time, the mayor said the Soca “will be part of the official activities of Araw ng Dabaw.”
The mayor said this year’s Araw will be from March 1 to 3, but to the exact date of her last Soca, she has yet to disclose it.
“Gi-move siya because gusto nato apilon ang tanang (This was moved again because we wanted to include all) reports as of December 31, 2021,” Duterte-Carpio said in an interview on 87.5 FM Davao City Disaster Radio.
She said her final Soca will be streamed live on the City Government of Davao social media accounts, as no audience will be allowed inside the Sangguniang Panlungsod venue except her and the technical team.
Duterte-Carpio was supposed to deliver her Soca speech on December 20, 2021, but this was rescheduled when joined the Uniteam in the delivery of aid in affected areas caused by Typhoon Odette.
The mayor said it will be a “valedictory” speech because this would include her accomplishments since she assumed her term as mayor in 2016 until present.
Her Soca, originally slated in October 2021, had been delayed several times due to various reasons.
Duterte-Carpio said in a previous interview that the Soca was delayed after she tested positive for coronavirus.
She also said she intentionally wanted to do it after November 15, the last day of the withdrawal and substitution of candidacy.
Another reason is that organizers wanted to ensure that there will be no issue with internet connectivity during that day.
