DEPUTY Speaker Pablo John Garcia (Cebu, 3rd District) emerged as the top performing congressman in the Philippines, according to the recent survey conducted by RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD).
The survey conducted from February 22 to 28, 2022 showed that the Cebuano lawmaker obtained a job performance rating of 92 percent out of 10,000 respondents in the third legislative district, which is composed of seven local government units—City of Toledo and municipalities of Aloguinsan, Asturias, Balamban, Barili, Pinamungajan and Tuburan.
Congresman Garcia’s sister Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia also topped the RPMD survey done in the same period among provincial executives with a satisfaction rating of 83 percent. Governor Garcia was followed by Sorsogon Gov. Francis Escudero with 81 percent.
Congressman Garcia is also the secretary general of One Cebu Party, which is headed by Governor Garcia. Both are reelectionists in the May 9, 2022 polls.
In the RPMD survey for district representatives, Rep. Rufus Rodriguez of Northern Mindanao followed Congressman Garcia with a 91 percent performance rating.
House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco of Mimaropa came in third with a rating of 90 percent, followed by Rep. Kristine Singson-Meehan of Ilocos Region with 89 percent and Rep. Camille Villar of National Capital Region with 88 percent.
Rounding up the top 10 were Representatives Loren Legarda of Western Visayas, 86 percent; Edcel Lagman of Bicol, 85 percent; Michael John Duavit of Calabarzon, 83 percent; Paolo Duterte of Davao Region, 81 percent; and Henry Villarrica of Central Luzon, 80 percent.
Occupying the 11th to 17th spots were Representatives Glona Labadlabad of Zamboanga Peninsula, 78 percent; Princess Rihan Sakaluran of Soccsksargen, 77 percent; Ansaruddin Abdul Adiong of Barrm, 76 percent; Gerardo Espina Jr. of Eastern Visayas, 73 percent; Mark Go of CAR, 72 percent; Eddiebong Plaza of Caraga, 71 percent; and Joseph Lasam Lara of Cagayan Valley, 70 percent.
