AROUND 4,000 children 5-11 years old are expected to receive their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine during the resumption of vaccination for the said age bracket.
Mayor Michael Rama said the vaccination for children 5-11 years old had resumed on March 5 in Ayala Center Cebu and Abellana school gymnasium, and reopened last Monday, March 7, 2022, with one additional venue at Robinson’s Cybergate.
The Cebu City government received from the Department of Health an additional 11,000 Covid-19 doses for children 5-11 years old.
Dr. Jeffrey Ibones, head of the Cebu City Health Department (CCHD), however, said that only 4,000 of the 11,000 doses are available for use since the other doses were already dispensed in their previous vaccination.
Ibones said they were expecting to dispose the 4,000 doses within this week.
Aside from the 11,000 doses, the city government also received another 35,000 doses for children 12 years old and older, which will be given during the fourth National Vaccination Day on Marso 10-12 in 30 vaccination sites all over the city. (PAC, TPT)
