THE Mandaue City Health Office (MCHO) has already registered 93 of its employees on the electronic immunization registration (EIR) as recipients of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Ernie Manatad, the city’s vaccine czar and Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) president, said the EIR, which was made by the Mandaue Information Systems Office (MISO), made registration easy for vaccine recipients.

Manatad said the registration at the MCHO started last week. The MCHO has 140 employees.

Initially, the MCHO employees formally registered by providing a registration form. Right now, they are still transferring the data to the online registration, Manatad said.

Medical frontliners from the private sector are included in the priority list and will have to coordinate with the city government for registration, Manatad said.

Apart from them, Manatad said they are also prioritizing barangay frontliners, senior citizens, persons with disability, and military personnel for the vaccination registration.

Manatad said there are 140,000 individuals in the city that will be prioritized to receive the vaccine.

In the coming days, Manatad said, they will start the registration at the barangay level.

He said MISO personnel will conduct an orientation on how to register online to the barangay personnel assigned to man the procedure.

The Department of Health announced the first rollout of the vaccine in the coming weeks, but Manatad has yet to confirm if Mandaue will be part of the first rollout.

“We were promised that this will be distributed equitably to the local government units, and we expect a share from the first wave of vaccines that will arrive,” he said.

On Feb. 13, the DOH Central Visayas case bulletin showed Mandaue logging 28 new cases, bringing the city’s active cases to 541. (KFD)
