NORTHERN Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) liaison officer Dr. Bernard Rocha said Monday, June 28, that the hospital will possibly lower its operating status to code yellow in the first week of July.
“Ang code red status sa NMMC basin karong first week of July we will already lower our status to yellow,” Rocha said.
“Maghulat lang ta sa announcement ana because we are still seeing in terms sa atong upat nga factors needed para ma-lower nato ang atong status, katong 4s: stock, supplies, space, and system,” he added.
The NMMC has seen a decline in the number positive cases being admitted in the hospital during the weeks of Cagayan de Oro being under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ). Most admitted patients, however, are not from Cagayan de Oro City.
The nearby provinces implementing stricter protocols also helped in the decline in the number of Covid-19 cases being admitted at the NMMC.
Rocha said once the NMMC is under code yellow, the hospital will be able to address its general services.
“Kung makita namo nga okay na, nga pwede na namo inaog ang atong alert status to yellow, then we have to address already our general services,” Rocha said.
It can be recalled that on May 21, the NMMC raised its operating status to code red over the increasing Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro.
Code red means 50 percent of NMMC’s capacity is dedicated for Covid-19 patients.
