73 Cagayan de Oro residents contract coronavirus

THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office recorded 73 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, all of which are local transmissions.

This brought the total number of confirmed infections in the city to 6,252.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 73 new local cases, 25 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, eight were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), 26 were local index cases, 11 were persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), and three deaths.

Of the 6,252 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 438 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 5,814 cases were local transmissions.

Cagayan de Oro logged 967 active cases, 249 of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, and 718 were outpatients.

The city also registered 100 new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as “recovered,” bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 5,021, with an 80.31-percent recovery rate.

Of the figure, 313 were LSIs, 124 were ROFs, and 4,584 were local cases (community: 3,890; Apors: 694).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 264.
