NINE residents of Cagayan de Oro have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, all of which are local transmissions, bringing the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the city to 3,971.
Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the nine new local cases, four are local index cases, three are local cases with link, one person deprived of liberty (PDL), and one authorized person outside residence (Apor).
Of the 3,971 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 423 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 3,548 cases were local transmissions.
According to Nery, the 3,548 local cases consist of 187 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), 1,901 local index cases and 1,459 local cases with link.
Cagayan de Oro has recorded 150 active cases, 55 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 94 are outpatients, and one ROF.
The city also registered nine new coronavirus-positive persons who were tagged as “recovered.” This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 3,632, with a 91.46 percent recovery rate.
Of the figure, 302 were LSIs, 119 were ROFs, and 3,211 were local cases (community: 2,713; Apors: 498).
The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 189.
