THE four hospitals run and managed by the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental have received respective deliveries of Covid-19 vaccines that would be used by their respective medical personnel.
Zeaphard Caelian, head of the Provincial Incident Management Team, said the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City received 400 vials of Sinovac vaccines, while the Cadiz District Hospital in Cadiz City received 317 Sinovac vials.
On Saturday, March 13, 2021, 68 vials of Sinovac and seven AstraZeneca vaccines were delivered to the Valladolid District Hospital, while Kabankalan District Hospital received 92 vials of Sinovac and 15 AstraZeneca vaccines.
Caelian also said on Saturday, the Philippine Coast Guard patrol ship BRP Cape Engaño arrived in Bacolod City from Iloilo delivering 2,590 vials of Sinovac vaccines coming from the Department of Health (DOH) Western Visayas.
The vaccines were immediately brought to the cold storage facility of the Provincial Health Office located on Gatuslao Street, Bacolod City prior to their distribution.
Caelian said the provincial government had already received a total of 5,180 Sinovac vials from the national government.
Bacolod City and Negros Occidental have already initiated their respective vaccinations programs, with the provincial government kicking off its program last week, wherein 10 doctors and two nurses were inoculated.
The vaccination of medical frontliners had started Saturday in four hospitals under the province.
