BACOLOD City Mayor Evelio Leonardia revealed that an ordinance instituting the Home Quarantine Pass (HQP) and the setting up of checkpoints at the borders of the city will soon be passed by the Sangguniang Panglungsod.

Leonardia made the revelation during the launching of “Timeout Weekend,” which will be jointly undertaken by the City of Bacolod and the Province of Negros Occidental from August 28 to 31. It aims to conduct Covid-19 mass testing to 10,000 individuals.

“We will pass an ordinance instituting the HQP because, under the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), there is no quarantine pass and checkpoints so that when the need arises, we use the said ordinance as our basis,” Leonardia pointed out.

The mayor explained that this advice by the officials of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Disease when he got in touch with them.

Home Quarantine Pass is not present under the regular category but if there is an ordinance by the LGU, it will be valid, Leonardia added.

He said that Councilor Renecito Novero with the guidance of Vice Mayor Elcid Familiaran will make the realization of the said ordinance.
