Health and safety security in the southern Palawan “backdoor” has been tightened to prevent the entry of the COVID-19 threat from neighboring countries.
Provincial information officer Winston Arzaga said that “backdoor entry” is one of the security priorities of the government along with the temporary ban on air and sea travels.
He said all the Barangay Emergency Health Response Teams (BERTHs) in all municipalities have already been activated to keep watch of individuals who might be showing symptoms of COVID-19.
“Hindi natin ‘yan pinapabayaan, in fact, ‘yan nga din ang isa sa mga mahigpit na binabantayan natin,” he said.
Arzaga said that it is still illegal to use go to other countries without necessary documents.
He said that all agencies and local government units (LGUs) are exerting efforts and going the green mile to prevent the possible entry of the virus.
“[Kapag may nakita na papasok o palabas] ay babalik talaga sila kasi bawal. Nandoon na ang team natin ng PDRRMO, checkpoints at lahat na ay on alert talaga ngayon as prevention nga sa covid-19,” he said.
