The city government will be implementing the work-at-home arrangement for its employees starting Tuesday as the threat of the COVID-19 is showing no signs of slowing down.

The statement released by the city government on Saturday bared that all of its offices “shall move to a work at home and on-call operations beginning 07:00H March 31, 2020.”

“All employees are ordered to work from home and render services on-call basis. All documents and other materials needed for work to continue shall be transported between residences,” it said.

The city government said this decision was reached because of possible patients under investigation (PUIs) among employees of the city hall. Also, there is an urgent need to protect everyone who reports to their respective offices to avoid a breakdown of government service by exposure to the majority of the employees.

“This method is followed to ensure that there is no disruption of public service,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, City Hall will still continue to receive documents at the Davao City Recreation Center (former Almendras gym).

Departments and offices tasked to deliver basic social services, health, sanitation, public safety and security, preparedness and response to disaster and calamities, and other vital services will still be in full operation.
They are, however, mandated to follow the strict implementation and proper disinfection, physical distancing, and wearing of masks in their line of duty.

The statement also said that the public may still reach the Office of the City Mayor through its email address [email protected] and phone number 0932 322 1063 which will be available from Monday to Wednesday; and 0915 963 7127 for Thursday to Friday.
