Santiago City, Isabela – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr said on Tuesday, Sept 13, that he is looking into giving out rice allowance for government workers to relieve consumers’ burden.
In Marcos Jr’s interview with Toni Gonzaga, the President said he is going to initiate at least for the government employees a rice allowance as part of their salary in rice form.
Marcos added that since several big corporations are doing it, his administration will ‘institutionalize’ it.
“Marami naman doon sa malakaking korporasyon, meron na silang rice allowance, so we’ll institutionalize it,” he said.
The country’s top executive also clarified that the rice will be purchased by and from the government to maximize and ensure cheaper costs of the said crop.
He also bared that the proposal of cutting of rice prices down to P20/kg “still has a long way to go.” TNF
