Cauayan City, Isabela – The Food and Drug Administration on Thursday, Sept 15, has warned the general public against a number of fake and unregistered medication currently being sold in the country.
The FDA said on its website and Facebook page that some of these are oral and topical medication.
Among those the agency warned about are the following:
1. Ibuprofen/ Paracetamol (Alaxan® FR) 200 mg/ 325 mg Capsule
2. Ibuprofen (Medicol® Advance) 200 mg Softgel Capsule
3. Hyoscine N-Butylbromide (Buscopan®) 10mg Tablet
4. Aluminum Hydroxide / Magnesium Hydroxide / Simeticone (Kremil-S®) 178 mg / 233 mg / 30 mg Chewable Tablet
5. Loperamide Hydrochloride (Diatabs®) 2 mg Capsule
6. Loperamide Hydrochloride (Imodium) 2 mg Capsule
7. Lianhua Qingwen Capsules 24’s
8. Terramycin™ Oxytetracycline Hydrochloride with Polymyxin B Sulfate Ophthalmic Ointment 3.5 gm [Label with Foreign Character]
9. Canesten® Clotrimazole Cream (Clotrimazole 1% w/w) [Label with Foreign Character]
10. Tapazole Methimazole Tablets, USP (INN: Thiamazole) 5 mg 100 Tablets
11. Teva Isordil® 5 mg Sublingual Tablet Izosorbid Dinitrat 50 Tablet [Label in Foreign Language]
