TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Department of Health (DOH) Director for Facilities Enhancent Programs Dr. Leonita P. Gorgolon has given her praises to Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC) under the leadership of Medical Center Chief Dr. Glenn Mathew Baggao during her visit on June 6.
“The development of the hospital is amazing for a short period of time and given the restrictions during the height of the pandemic. I’m amazed on how they handled the situation as the only level 3 hospital in the region,” she said.
Gorgolon accompanied Health USec. Lilibeth C. David of health facilities and infrastructure development team for the blessing and turn-over of new isolation facilities of CVMC. “I did not expect na ganito kaganda at ka-develop ang hospital dito. They did well in the response against COVID-19,” she said.
Gorgolon said that when the numbers of COVID-19 are reduced, the isolation facilities for COVID-19 will be used regular isolation facilities for other communicable diseases.
Moreover, isolation facilities of LGUs will be converted to evacuation centers. For Baggao’s part, he gave emphasis to the unwavering support of all the health workers who worked hard to achieve the hospital goals. “This achievement cannot be done without teamwork and positive mindset. Napakahalaga maging spiritually strong upang malagpasan ang mga pagsubok na ating kinaharap,” the medical director told the Northern Forum.
Baggao also expressed his gratitude to the national office of DOH for supporting them during the height of the pandemic. CVMC is the only level three hospital in the entire region which also extends services to neighboring regions and provinces. TNF
