Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – Vice-presidential frontrunner Sara Duterte will be the country’s Education Secretary once leading presidential bet Bongbong Marcos assumes post.
The announcement was made by Marcos in his address to the media on Wednesday, saying “Tinanong ko sa kanya kung kaya niya ‘yung trabaho, mahirap ang trabaho ng Secretary of Education. Pero nag-agree naman siya. Palagay ko, kasama na diyan, dahil she is a mother, and she wants to make sure that her children are well-trained and well-educated.”
At the height of the campaign season, Marcos previously said that his runningmate wanted to lead the Department of Defense.
The presidential daughter and out-going Davao City mayor told reporters that she initially wanted to lead the Defense department but has changed her mind eventually.
Duterte said in a statement, “Seeing the way things are at the moment, I expect that people who want to see the new administration to fail will fabricate intrigues about my loyalty and the DND position to break the UniTeam. It was decided that I would work on producing skilled learners with the mindset to realize their full potential as individuals. Our country needs a future generation of patriotic Filipinos that advocate peace and discipline in their respective communities.” TNF
