TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Philippine Army’s 5th Infantry Division has new 140 additional forces to intensify the campaign against insurgency. The additional Startroopers of the division mentioned consist of 119 males and 21 female privates which will beef up the campaign to end local communist armed conflict in the area of responsibility.
The new soldiers have completed their six-month military training on July 23 at Training and Doctrine Command, Camp O’Donnell, Capaz in Tarlac.
Major General Laurence Mina, commander of the 5th division, said these new troops are now prepared to conquer the responsibilities they have chosen as part of the Army. “The training that you have underwent prepared you to face the challenges of the profession of arms. As new members of 5th Infantry Division, I expect that you will adhere to the tradition of excellence that the Command believes in,” Mina said.
Moreover, the said newly reported Privates underwent RT-PCR testing in their designated quarantine facilities inside the camp on July 26, 2021 before they were deployed. TNF
