The 22 twins from 18 barangays in the city paraded onboard floats made of indigenous and recyclable materials designed by the City Engineer’s Office led by Engineer Donato Dizon and the One United LGBTQ+ group.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., led the parade along with his brother Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, and members of the Environmental Management System — City Engineer’s Office CEO.
This is the second Kambal Festival celebration under Lazatin’s administration where the identical appearance of twin-participants and creative floats also await prizes for categories A and B — ?100,000 for the grand winner in best float; ?100,000 for the best festive float and ?50,000 for the grand winner in the best identical twins in each category.
“I am very happy today na nakaharap ko po kayo for this Kambal Festival. After two years, mikit-ikit tamu ngan pu pasibayu to properly celebrate Angeles City’s Twin Fiesta,” Lazatin said.
“These events and festivities are testaments of the resiliency of Angeleños,” he added.
The 22 sets of twins came from 18 barangays including Agapito Del Rosario, Cuayan, Cutud, Cutcut, Lourdes Northwest, Lourdes Sur East, Malabanias, Pandan, Pampang, Pulung Maragul, Pulungbulu, San Nicolas, San Jose, Sapalibutad, Sta. Teresita, Sta. Trinidad, Sto. Rosario, and Tabun.
The parade started from the city’s crossing area up to the Heritage District.
The event was supervised by Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel and the Working Committee composed of Gender and Development Officer Mina Cabiles, City Tourism Officer-in-Charge Anneleen Antonio-Sugui, Angeles City Economic Development Investment and Promotions Office Head Irish Bonus-Llego, Information Communication and Technology Division Chief Michael Lising, Angeles City Traffic Development Officer Francis Pangilinan, and CEO.
Lazatin thanked the Beautéderm Corporation led by Rei Anicoche-Tan for supporting the celebration of Kambal Festival.
