MABALACAT City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo expressed hopes that Mabalaqueños enjoy an unrestricted Christmas holiday season as Covid-19 cases in the locality decreases.
The Mabalacat City Covid-19 Response Integrated System (Cris) said there were more recoveries than new active cases and deaths in September. In July, the local government reported 270 total active cases.
Covid-19 infections climbed to 629 in August. These figures posted a 53.24-percent decrease or a total of 294 cases as September ends.
Data also showed a decline in daily active cases from 40 to 60 infections in mid-September to an average of 22 in the last few weeks of the month.
It is also in September when the City Government recorded some of its highest single-day recoveries with 87 in September 3; 97 in September 4; 92 in September 23; and 75 in September 27.
Garbo urged his fellow Mabalaqueños not to be complacent and continue to observe minimum health standards prescribed by the national government.
He also urged his constituents to get vaccinated against Covid 19.
Garbo, who finished a medical degree, formed the MCG’s compendium of Vaccination Programs for healthcare workers, senior citizens, persons with comorbidities, overseas Filipino workers, economic frontliners (business process outsourcing, small-medium-scale businesses, and tourism), transportation sector, and the general public.
The mayor recently ordered the vaccination of inmates detained at the Angeles City District Jail.
These initiatives were cited by the Civil Service Commissionduring the agency’s Appreciation Program for Frontline Government Workers last September 27, 2021.
More than 210,000 residents were already inoculated against the dreaded disease.
