ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. asked his constituents to not entertain anyone asking for payments for vaccines.

“Do not entertain groups or individuals asking for payment for inoculations,” Lazatin said, adding that, “Covid-19 being administered by the City Government are for free.”

Lazatin said Covid-19 vaccines are only given on site prior to the inoculation schedule via the Ronda Bakuna and Sundo Bakuna sa Barangay vaccination programs.

In an advisory installed around the vaccination areas at the City College of Angeles and Angeles City National High School, as well in the mobile bus clinic, it states that the local government unit of Angeles City is giving vaccines against Covid-19 to Angeleños for free.

“Ang lokal na pamahalaan ng Angeles ay nagbibigay ng libreng bakuna, wala po itong bayad,” the advisory wrote.

Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, also the chief implementer of the city government’s vaccination program, echoed this and reminded the public to immediately report any of these fraudulent activities to the city government’s hotline 09517570226.

“Ang sinumang mahuli, lumabag, o nanamantala sa publiko na humihingi ng kapalit, bayad, o anumang uri ay ipagbigay ito sa kapulisan, barangay, o tawagan ang hotline 09517570226,” the advisory states.

According to Calaguas, the City Government will not tolerate any unjust and undignified act of taking advantage of Angeleños.

To date, 127,258 Angeleños already received their first dose of vaccines, while 73,384 are already fully vaccinated.

The vaccination is now directly house-to-house per barangay via schedule, while the on-site vaccination areas in City College of Angeles and Angeles City National High School are only available for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women.

Angeles City now has the highest number of inoculated individuals per day in Pampanga province at more than 4,000 daily vaccinations, the Department of Health-Central Luzon said.

The City recorded the highest number of single-day vaccination at 7,874 on August 20, surpassing 6,094 on August 11 and 6,017 on August 12.
