THE first lady of Arayat town in Pampanga continued to encourage more Arayateños to get vaccinated against coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Executive Assistant to the Governor Madeth Alejandrino, who is also the wife of three-termer Mayor Emmanuel Alejandrino, said she continues to disseminate proper information about the vaccines to educate residents.

“I make it a point to be present at every vaccine day to encourage and boost confidence of recipients on the vaccines, especially senior citizens,” she said.

A Covid-19 survivor herself, Alejandrino has been sharing her story to the public to let them know that battling the disease is no joke.

“We can only protect ourselves from such kind of experience if we get inoculated. Vaccines may not ensure that you will not get infected by the virus, but it will surely reduce the risk of getting severe symptoms,” she said.

Aside from information drive, Alejandrino said she is also providing breakfast meal to vaccinees to ensure that their body is fully prepared for the jab.

“We have heard instances where vaccinees reported adverse effects such as dizziness and body malaise after receiving the vaccines but upon investigation, it was learned that it was because they skipped breakfast. We are trying to prevent that from happening in Arayat as it may affect the confidence on our vaccines,” she said.

Alejandrino also reiterated that achieving herd immunity immediately will help in reinvigorating the economy not only of Arayat, but the whole of Pampanga and the country.

As of Monday, July 5, Alejandrino said around 7,000 doses of vaccines were administered to Arayeteño frontliners, senior citizens, persons with comorbidities.
