NATIONAL and local government officials led the ceremonial vaccination for essential workers in Clark Freeport on July 6.

The symbolic vaccination was held at the CDC-Luenthai Satellite vaccination site on July 6.

Key officials present during the activity were Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III, Deputy Chief Implementer for National Task Force against Covid-19 Secretary Vivencio Dizon, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Clark Development Corporation (CDC) Chairman Edgardo Pamintuan, CDC President and Chief Executive Officer Manuel Gaerlan, Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda, Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo, and Luenthai International Group Philippines Inc., President Francisco Sauceda.

In his speech, Gaerlan thanked Duque and Dizon for their support in facilitating the rollout of the vaccines in Clark Freeport.

He also said that they will continue to partner with their locators to achieve herd immunity among locators inside the freeport.

“The locators and workers of the freeport are very happy and lucky to be the recipients of the vaccines. I hope our workers will continue supporting our government, supporting the management of their respective companies,” Gaerlan said.

For his part, Dizon cited the efforts of medical frontliners for the vaccination rollout in Central Luzon.

“I would like to thank all our government workers, especially our health care workers led by Regional Director Cora Flores, and all the members of DOH,” Dizon said.

Dizon also thanked local government officials and economic workers for supporting the immunization drive of the National Government.

According to Dizon, there are already 12 million Filipinos who received immunization.

“This is a testament to Mayor (Garbo), Governor (Pineda), and all our mayors throughout the country who have worked so hard to really ramp up our vaccination,” he said.

Meanwhile, at least 500 workers from Luenthai International Group Philippines Inc. initially received their first dose of Sinovac vaccines in partnership with CDC.

Luenthai is one of the leading manufacturers of fashion and lifestyle apparel and accessories in the world.

Five of Luenthai’s production unit personnel were first to receive the vaccines during the symbolic vaccination ceremony including Juna Espinosa, Rosalyn Puno, Jannet Dulu, Mercedita Opong, and Michael Ignacio.

Luenthai employs about 15,000 workers in the Philippines, with 3,900 of them working in Clark and San Fernando, Pampanga. The company also has manufacturing sites in Cebu, Tarlac, and Bataan.
