AN OFFICIAL from the Davao City Task Force said on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, said that for some government offices, less than half of their workers have yet to get their booster shots against Covid-19.

Dr. Michelle Schlosser, spokesperson of the Davao City Covid-19 Task Force, said on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, that many government employees are unadministered with the booster dose even though they are fully vaccinated.

“Taas gyod ang number of individuals na fully vaccinated na but unfortunately medyo mababa ang atong number of boostered individuals compared sa fully vaccinated individuals,” Schlosser said during a radio interview.

(We have a high number of fully vaccinated individuals, but unfortunately, the number of boostered individuals is still low.)

Among the regional government offices with a low population of booster dose vaccine are the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Commission on Audit, Department of Agriculture, National Housing Authority, and Office of Civil Defense among others.

In terms of the local government unit of Davao City, Schlosser said at least 1,900 employees are not vaccinated with the booster dose.

Because of this, the Vaccination Cluster of Davao City will implement an In-Office Vaccination Rollout to bring the vaccine closer to ‘unboostered’ government employees and workers.

“What we did, particularly our vaccination cluster, gi-evaluate ang mga (we evaluated our) government offices and establishment para masilbihan sila og (to service them with a) mobile vaccination,” Schlosser said.

She added that the vaccination cluster implements a sectoral approach with the booster dose vaccination in order to conduct a rollout per office or establishment.

“At the moment we are focused sa mga government offices and employees na wala pa na-booster,” Schlosser said.

As of date, it is not yet clarified whether or not unboostered government employees will be prioritized for renewal.
