THE Talisay City Police Station will consult with Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas regarding the implementation of visiting hours to cemeteries all over the city from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
Talisay-Traffic Operations and Development Authority (CT-Toda) head Jonathan Tumulak, for his part, will also recommend the banning of entry of vehicles 150 meters away from the cemeteries, except for vehicles carrying senior citizens and persons with mobility problems.
But the driver will be asked to go back to the designated parking area outside the 150-meter perimeter to park his car.
Various personnel from the CT-Toda, Talisay City Police Station, Talisay City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Personnel and the Bureau of Fire Protection visited the cemeteries in Barangay Poblacion on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, to find out the things that need to be done during the two-day observance.
Meanwhile, Talisay City Police Station Chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Randy Caballes said they will bring up to the mayor their proposal on the cemetery opening schedule during their meeting on Wednesday, October 26.
They will also raise their request for additional 30 police personnel to beef up their forces during the two-day observance.
Caballes said they will start deploying police personnel in cemeteries on October 29.
(We will recommend opening the cemeteries at 6 a.m. until 11 p.m. We no longer followed the previous 24 hours.) (BBT, TPT)
