THIRTY-EIGHT barangays in Cebu City had no active coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in the past 10 days or from March 13 to 22, 2022, according to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
The EOC data released on Wednesday, March 23 showed that three barangays had double-digit digits in the same 10-day period: Guadalupe, 16; Apas, 10; and Sambag 1, 10.
The remaining 39 barangays had single-digit active cases.
Cebu City logged 135 active cases on Tuesday, March 22. Fifty-four days, last January 27, Cebu City logged 7,663 active cases, the highest since the pandemic began in the city in March 2020.
Positivity rate on Tuesday was at 2.87 percent, which was still within the five percent threshold set by the World Health Organization.
Tuesday’s positivity came from 22 of 767 individuals tested whose results came out positive for the coronavirus disease.
Cebu City saw its record-high 56.62 percent positivity rate last January 21.
Positivity rate is the percentage of all coronavirus tests performed that come out positive. WHO has said a positivity rate of under five percent for two weeks is one of the indicators that Covid-19 infections are under control
The EOC also reported 30 recoveries and one new death, bringing the number of fatalities to nine this month. (KAL)
