THE Cebu City Government is planning a welcome celebration for newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines Beatrice Luigi Gomez, who represented the city in the said pageant.
Chairperson of the Cebu City Tourism Commission and Noah Complex manager Jocelyn Pesquera said they are currently discussing possible activities that would be dedicated to Gomez once she returns to the city from Bohol, where the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 coronation night was held Thursday, September 20, 2021.
“We will have, good nato nga presentation kay especially we are so proud that Bea represented Cebu City and she is now the Miss Universe Philippines,” Pesquera said.
“And then we are also proud especially kami diri sa Noah because when she has submitted her video (runway challenge), she had it in Noah; so, it means she is also very proud of what we are doing here sa Cebu City,” she added.
She added they still have to decide and arrange things as to how this would-be welcome activity will be done in this time of Covid-19 pandemic and with Cebu City’s general community quarantine status where health protocols are to be observed.
Cebu City acting Vice Mayor Michael Rama, in a separate interview, also expressed pride for Gomez’s recent achievement.
“I am very proud because she went to my office on a courtesy call and I am really exhilarated after learning that she had won and representing (Philippines for) Miss Universe, coming from Cebu City,” he said. (WBS)
