Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer said over the weekend that the SP, specifically the Committee on Finance will start the budget deliberation this week.
The committee is chaired by Board Member Rommel Debulgado of the first district.
“Debulgado’s committee will determine the sequence and schedules of the different departments,” Ferrer said.
Ferrer assured the passage of the budget in the first week of December.
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson proposes for a P5.1 billion provincial budget for 2023.
Lacson said the proposed budget is lower by P760 million than this year’s budget because of the reduction of P780 million in the National Tax Allotment (NTA) of the province next year.
The rest of the budget is locally generated, he said.
Meanwhile, Ferrer assured the employees of an extra bonus this December.
He said in previous years, the Incentive Benefit for Exemplary Services (IBES ) was also disallowed by the Commission on Audit but the provincial government is always finding ways to give extra bonuses.
Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz earlier revealed that Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson has ordered not to give the IBES this year because COA disallowed it and the province’s appeal is now pending before the Supreme Court.
Diaz also assured that they are finding other means to give extra bonus of employees. (TDE)
