This is in relation to the preparations for full-blown reimplementation of face-to-face (F2F) classes this school year, Lacson said, adding that the provincial government will exert efforts to make that happen.
Currently, most schools in the province are holding limited in-person classes.
“But if the President wants it fully implemented, I will discuss it with the DepEd officials in the province,” Lacson assured.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., during his virtual meeting with the city mayors who went to Malacañang on Friday, July 9, has expressed his desire to hold in-person classes across the country.
The President also made emphasis to the mayors about the push for booster shots against coronavirus disease (Covid-19) for school children in preparation for F2F classes.
Meanwhile, the governor admitted that not a wide range of individuals, especially school children, are covered yet in booster shots.
With this, the provincial government will have to discuss the matter and see how they can cover [for vaccination] as many as possible to reach the target.
Lacson said that hopefully they could do it before the implementation of the full F2F classes.
Marcos Jr. Announced last week that the Philippine government is targeting to fully implement in-person classes nationwide by November this year.
It was Vice President and current Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio, who made the proposal during their first Cabinet meeting last week.
