Ferrer said only 50,000 attendees will be allowed at the arena amid the prevailing coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.
“This will be a show of force. This is overwhelming despite the limitations due to the pandemic,” he said.
Ferrer added that as of this time, among the seven congressional districts in the province including Bacolod, three have already confirmed support for Marcos and Duterte-Carpio, also known as BBM-Sara tandem.
Those who have earlier confirmed their support are those from the Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Districts, the First District is still under negotiation while the Third District is still silent, the vice governor said.
The Second District might be supporting another candidate while the Lone District of Bacolod will most likely go for BBM.
“Almost 85 percent of Negros Occidental will go for BBM,” Ferrer claimed.
Ferrer earlier declared support for BBM because of the close family ties of the Marcoses and the Benedictos.
He is married to Fourth District Representative Juliet Marie Benidicto Ferrer, who is the granddaughter of the late Ambassador Roberto Benedicto.
Ferrer also revealed that the BBM-Sara Unity Team may arrive in the province in the third week of February.
When asked for his reaction about the recent revelations of former Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon against the consolidated disqualification cases against Marcos, Ferrer said he does not believe it could affect the candidacy of the presidential aspirant.
“I respect the pronouncements of Guanzon. It’s her belief but I believe it’s the people who will decide,” he added.
