Lieutenant Colonel Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of BCPO, said Wednesday, January 5, that 95 percent of over 1,000 personnel are already fully vaccinated.
“So far, we don’t have a directive from the BCPO director to impose the ‘no vaccination card, no work policy’ since most of our personnel were already vaccinated,” he said.
Gabana added that the City Government earlier allotted vaccines to the BCPO personnel and the vaccination was facilitated by the Emergency Operations Center-Task Force (EOC-TF) in various vaccination centers, including its headquarters in Barangay Taculing.
The vaccination included police commissioned officers, non-commissioned officers and non-uniformed personnel.
Gabana noted that some policemen were also assigned to the quarantine facilities. “All of them were required to be vaccinated,” he said.
The official added all police stations were also reminded to monitor their areas of jurisdiction especially, those areas with identified isolation facilities.
“We want to ensure that all Covid patients will follow health protocols while they are inside the isolation facilities,” he said.
Em Ang, executive director of EOC-TF, said they already inspected all the quarantine facilities in the city to ensure that it is functional.
Ang said the city has more than 20 quarantine facilities, but they are now using only two facilities as cases of Covid-19 are currently low.
“We want to ensure that we are ready in case there’s a surge of Covid-19 cases in the city,” she added.
