Alan Arroyo of Barangay Sum-ag in Bacolod City filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) Friday, October 1. He will again run as councilor.
Bacolod City Election Officer Kathrina Trinio-Caña said they received the COC of Arroyo around 10 a.m.
Aside from Arroyo, no other candidates filed their COCs in Bacolod Friday, Trinio-Caña said.
She also clarified that there is no need for the candidates to set an appointment at Commission on Elections (Comelec) because their office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Comelec official stressed that they will entertain candidates on a first-come-first-served basis.
Trinio-Caña noted that the candidates will be allowed to bring two chaperons during the filing of the COCs to ensure that minimum health protocols are not violated.
Policemen were also deployed outside the Comelec office to help in the implementation of the protocols and in controlling the crowd.
