TOBOSO Mayor Richard Jaojoco clarified Thursday, September 9, 2021, that he is not running against Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer in the 2022 elections.

Jaojoco said he is hundred percent sure that he is not running against Ferrer, whom he regarded as his elder brother.

He said he is eyeing a Sangguniang Bayan (SB) seat in the town because he will help the candidacy for his wife Madonna Marañon Jaojoco for mayor.

Jaojoco also clarified that he has not yet secured his Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance (Cona) for his last-minute decisions.

Of the eight slots for SB, two slots are still vacant, he said.

Jaojoco also pledged support for the re-election of Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Ferrer saying that “it is part of the agreement of Love Negros and Unega.”

He made the commitment despite that Love Negros has already confirmed fielding a mayoralty candidate against his wife.

Jaojoco is a member of Unega.

He also clarified that news circulating of him running for vice governor is just speculation because he has not received any invitation from any quarter about it.
