BUGASONG, Antique – From Nov. 29 to Dec. 1 during the three-day “Bayanihan Bakunahan” National Vaccination Days, 3,460 residents here had themselves inoculated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
They were at least 18 years old, data from the Bugasong Rural Health Unit (RHU) showed.
For a more organized vaccination at the spacious municipal covered gym, the 27 barangays of Bugasong were assigned days for the activity.
On Nov. 29, the vaccination was for residents from the villages of Ilaya, Ilauod, Pojo, Lacayon, Sabang East, Igsoro, Cubay South, Cubay North, Talisay, and Tica.
The following day, those from barangays Guija, Jinalinan, Paliwan, Sabang West, Pangalcagan, Tono-an, Bagtason, Igbalangao, and Arangote were inoculated.
On Dec. 1, barangay residents of Tagudtud South, Tagudtod North, Maray, Anilawan, Yapu, Camangahan, Ilaures, and Zaragoza were served.
Mayor John Lloyd Pacete cited the RHU healthcare workers and volunteers for a job well done and thanked the vaccinees (which included senior citizens, persons with comorbidities, uniformed personnel, the indigent) for their cooperation./PN
