ILOILO – This province’s health care utilization rate (HCUR) has been classified as “low risk”. Only 36 percent of the 667 beds dedicated to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients in capitol-run hospitals were occupied (as of Nov. 5).
The Provincial Health Office (PHO) is hoping this could be sustained, said its head, Dr. Maria Socorro Colmenares-Quiñon.
Weekly cases are also dropping, according to Quiñon. From the 971 cases in the past three to four weeks, the province logged 439 in the last two weeks.
She also cited the province’s two-week growth rate (TWGR), which also declined from negative 54.92 to negative 55 percent.
As to the average daily attack rate (ADAR), the province recorded 3.38 percent in the previous three to four weeks and only 1.53 percent in the past two weeks.
Quiñon reiterated the provincial government’s 3M campaign – magmaskara, magdistansya, manghinaw – to curtail COVID-19’s transmission.
She also encouraged the Ilonggos to get vaccinated.
As of Nov. 3, 548,901 people in the province received their first dose of anti-COVID vaccines: healthcare workers – 80,452, senior citizens – 108,125, persons with comorbidities – 131,332, uniformed personnel – 147,075, indigents – 57,089, and others – 24,828./PN
