Mga residente ng Roxas, nag-protesta dahil sa kawalan ng ayuda

Nagsagawa ng isang kilos-protesta ang mga mamamayan ng Roxas, partikular ang mga residente ng Barangay 4, upang ipanawagang maibigay ang kanilang ayuda, isang buwan makalipas na masalanta ng bagyong Odette ang bayan.

Dakong 10:00 ng umaga ay naglakad ang mga residente mula sa barangay hall patungo sa tanggapan ng Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) ng Roxas at pagkatapos ay tumuloy sa tanggapan ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) kung saan nagsagawa ang mga ito ng pagtitipon at inilabas ang kanilang hinaing.

Ayon sa mga nagprotesta, 2,000 residente ng barangay ay mahigit 500 lang ang nakakuha ng ayuda, samantalang ang 1,600 pamilya ay pinangakuan na babalikan ng mga tauhan ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) lumipas ang ipinangakong petsa na January 8 ay walang bumalik.

 

Matatandaang nauna nang namahagi ang DSWD ng halagang P5,000 sa mga pamilyang apektado ng bagyo sa ibang barangay ng bayan. January 5 ng unang pinuntahan ang Barangay 4 para mabigyan sana ang lahat ng pamilya subalit nagkaroon ng gulo sa pagitan ng isang barangay kagawad at residente, kung kaya nagdesisyon ang DSWD na babalik na lamang habang inihahanda ng mga residente ang kanilang mga requirements.

Paliwanag naman ni Sangguniang Bayan member Jay Llavan, naubos na ang unang pondo mula sa DSWD at sa ngayon ay hinihintay nila ang karagdagan na magmumula naman sa Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

“Kakausapin ko ang municipal treasurer at tatanungin kung magkano ang na-download. Kakausapin ko din ang DILG, kung pwede ba ‘yun sa Barangay 4,” pahayag ni Llavan.

“Kung hindi sana nagkaroon ng disorder sa mga pila nila, natapos sana sila bago nag-proceed ang DSWD sa ibang barangay na lahat ng mga pamilya doon ay nabigyan naman,” dagdag niya.

Ani Llavan, pagkatapos na makipag-usap sa DILG ay agad din niyang ipapaabot sa mga opisyal ng barangay kung ano ang magiging resulta.

Dagdag pa niya, hindi man daw mabigyan ng sabay-sabay ang 1,600 pamilya ay tinitiyak niyang lahat ay makakatanggap, ngunit kailangan lamang ang maghintay.

Sa huli ay kumalma ang mga nagpo-protesta at nagdesisyong umuwi na lamang.

Ayon naman sa isang source ng Palawan News, hindi din daw sinasadya ng mga DSWD na mawala sa listahan ang mga pamilya mula sa Barangay 4, ngunit kinakailangang mabahagian ang lahat ng mga pamilya na naapektuhan ng bagyo kahit hindi napabilang sa mga listahan na hawak nila.
