The City Council on Monday passed a resolution expressing gratitude to SM Investments and SM Puerto Princesa for their support to the city’s vaccination rollout.
SM City Puerto Princesa has allowed the city government to use the mall as a vaccination site for free.
The resolution was authored by Councilor Victor Oliveros.
In a statement sent to Palawan News, the SM City Puerto Princesa management welcomed the council’s commendation.
“The SM management is very honored and thankful for the commendation of the City Council on our efforts to aid the local government in building vaccine confidence, sustaining the momentum for vaccine demands, and ensuring the completion of their doses,” the statement said.
The management vowed to continue assisting the city government in its vaccination efforts, including giving support to combat vaccine hesitancy among the public.
“With this partnership and with the cooperation of the people, we believe that we can achieve herd immunity by year-end and be able to bounce back stronger and better in this pandemic,” the statement added.
Aside from being a vaccination site, SM Puerto Princesa also offers vaccine registration services for those who cannot use the online registration platform. The property was also recently awarded a Safety Seal to signify its compliance to health standards for businesses.
